FIELD: textile, glass, paint and varnish industries, cultivation of yeast and softening of water, photography and preparation of pharmaceuticals. SUBSTANCE: method comprises neutralizing phosphoric acid with calcined water in saturated disodium phosphate solution at 100-105 C at original molar ratios of said compound of (1.93-2.0):1, maintaining said saturated solution prior to crystallization for 40-50 minutes followed by filtration to separate impurities, said solution by cooling to 5-25 C and separating commercial product from method liquor. EFFECT: higher quality of commercial disodium phosphate due to reduced content of impurities in final product and preparation of large transparent disodium phosphate crystals of prismatic shape. 1 tbl
