FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of potassium hydrogen phosphate. Method of production of potassium hydrogen phosphate involves neutralization of phosphoric acid with potassium hydroxide in the parent molar ratio K2O/P2O5, = (2.7-3.2):1. Prepared solution is boiled for 60-90 min and then phosphoric acid is added to the filtered off solution up to ratio K2O/P2O5 = (1.96-2.05):1. Before crystallization a saturated solution is kept for 90-120 min and crystallization is carried out at cooling at the rate 4 C/h firstly to temperature 35-40 C and then at the rate 7 C/h to temperature 15-20 C followed by separation of commercial product from a mother liquor by centrifugation. Except for, filtration is carried out by passing a solution through an activated carbon layer. Method provides decrease of impurities and formation of large crystals of ready product. Potassium hydrogen phosphate is used in chemical industry for making pyrophosphate electrolytes of passivation and copper plating and in biochemistry also for preparing buffer solutions, in microorganisms culturing, in biosynthesis of antibiotics and enzymes.
