FIELD: engine manufacture; fuel injection devices of internal- combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: longitudinal-axis shut-off member of valve used for fuel spraying in fuel-injection devices of internal-combustion engines has valve tip, cone section, and symmetrical rotary sealing surface running over contact line between intermediate and conical sections. Sealing surface is made in the form of narrow spherical area whose radius is expressed by mathematical equation. Sealing surface finishing process involves inclination of longitudinal axis of shut-off member to that of tool so as to make shut-off member of valve perform precision displacement. Tool has tool body, carrying assembly held in position in body to receive the tool, and twisting assembly set in rotary motion about longitudinal vertical axis of tool. Twisting assembly functions to rotate shut-off member of valve about its longitudinal axis with radial guide engaging the shut-off member of valve.
