PRESS-FILTER FOR SEPARATION OF SUSPENSIONS AND PRESSING-OUT OF SEDIMENT Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: devices for separation of suspensions into fractions; farming and processing industry; dehydration of starch production. SUBSTANCE: press-filter has cylindrical housing divided into two zones by means of sealing member: upper zone is intended for separation of suspensions and lower zone is intended for pressing-out the sediment. Filter is also provided with branch pipes for delivery of suspension, discharge of filtrate and neck for discharge of pressed-out product. Housing is provided with two perforated cylinders mounted coaxially with spiral cleaner mounted between them for motion along their surfaces. Cone-shaped screw feeder located in lower portion of housing is enclosed in taper perforated casing terminating in gate. Suspension is admitted to housing through branch pipe. Suspension flow is thickened during motion due to filtration and removal of liquid. Thickened sediment is discharged to perforated casing by means of spiral cleaner where it is entrapped and pressed-out by screw feeder. Pressed- out liquid is discharged through perforated surface of casing and dehydrated product is discharged through neck. EFFECT: increased productivity; high degree of separation of suspensions and pressing-out finished product. 2 dwg
