FIELD: apiculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying bee feed formed as feed pellets to protective coating applying apparatus, with pellets being fed by free falling method; transferring feed pellets from mentioned apparatus to excessive material removing zone, with following transportation to strengthening zone. Free falling of pellets is combined with rotation of pellets about their centers of gravity. Apparatus has chamber incorporating bath with heating members and transportation mechanism including charging and discharge conveyors. Charging conveyor has auxiliary feeder formed as spiral chute. Method and apparatus provide for covering pellets with protective coat of thickness sufficient for effective storage of pellets and free access of bees to feed. EFFECT: simplified method and construction of apparatus and increased efficiency in applying protective coating to bee feed pellets. 3 cl, 3 dwg
