APPARATUS FOR DISINFECTING UDDER TEATS AFTER MILKING Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: veterinary obstetrics, in particular, lactating cow mastitis prophylaxis equipment. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has vessel for disinfectant solution, teat cup communicated with said vessel and adapted for receiving udder teat. Vessel has plug equipped with pipe. Teat cup is made in the form of toroidal cylinder composed of two detachable parts communicated with one another. Upper part has opening in its side wall and is connected to pipe and lower part is made from half turned inside out of polyethylene tube with openings formed in its upper interior side. Space between walls of lower part is filled with spongy elastic material, such as porolon. Apparatus is adapted for putting on upper rib of palm so that lower cylinder of sprayer is embraced with palm and reservoir is positioned outside the palm. For operating said apparatus, udder teat is inserted into sprayer cylinder and slightly compressed in palm together with cylinder to cause portion of liquid to be expelled on teat and sprayed onto spread teat skin while other portion of liquid is delivered into vessel. So, each teat is sprayed with fresh portion of disinfectant solution. EFFECT: increased efficiency and provision for keeping udder teats in good sanitary state. 2 dwg
