FIELD: oil and gas industry. SUBSTANCE: process of detection of position of ancient water and oil contacts in productive dolomite strata includes drilling of hole, extraction of core material, preparation of specimen from it, X-ray structural investigation of specimen and determination of dimensions of blocks of coherent scattering. It is considered that change of dimensions of blocks of coherent scattering from 200 to 96 nm corresponds to subzone of cementation of ancient water and oil contacts and change of dimensions of blocks of coherent scattering from 95 to 50 nm corresponds to subzone of leak of ancient water and oil contacts of productive terrigenous stratum lying directly under subzone of cementation, contacting with it and jointly interpreted as ancient water and oil contact. EFFECT: raised reliability, timeliness and accuracy of detection of ancient water and oil contacts in productive terrigenous strata. 2 dwg
