FIELD: organic chemistry, pharmacy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel 4-aryl-1- phenylalkyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridines of the formula (I) 
where Y is CH or -N-; R1 is H, halogen, CF3; R2 is H, halogen, (C3-C4)-alkyl or (C1-C4)-alkoxy-group; R3 and R4 means H or (C1-C3)-alkyl; X means: a) (C3-C6)-alkyl, (C3-C6)-alkoxy-group or (C1-C4)-alkoxycarbonyl-(C3-C6)-alkoxy-group; b) (C3-C7)-cycloalkyl or c) substitute taken among the group including phenyl, phenoxy, benzyl, their salts, solvates or quaternary ammonium salts. Compounds of the formula (I) show neurotropic and neuro- -protective activity and can be used in medicine for treatment of patients with central nervous system diseases. Invention relates to also intermediate compounds of the formula
