FIELD: chemical technology, possibly wood chemical production. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes multichamber charcoal burning out furnace with chambers joined in pairs and with air duct formed by walls of chambers and casing. Air duct of each chamber is S-shaped one and it provides possibility for successive movement of gas along perimeters of chambers. Each two pairs of chambers are mutually connected by means of common air duct having outlet opening with damper. Branch pipe for feeding atmospheric air of each joined pair of chambers has switching member for changing direction of air movement. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of apparatus. 1 dwg
