ALUMINUM-BASE ALLOY, METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF SEMIFINISHED PRODUCTS AND ARTICLE FROM THIS ALLOY Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

Abstract RU 2163939 C1

FIELD: aluminum-base alloys and semifinished products and articles from these alloys. SUBSTANCE: aluminum-base alloy contains, wt.%: magnesium, 0.3-1.2; silicon, 0.3-1.7; manganese, 0.15-1.1; calcium, 0.002-0.1; at least one metal taken from group including copper, zirconium and chromium, 0.02-0.9; aluminum, the balance. It is admissible to have in alloy the following components, wt.%, max.: iron, 1.0; titanium, 0.2; zinc, 0.3. Offered method of production of semifinished products includes preparation of said alloy, casting of ingots, ingot annealing at 350-610 C for 1-20 h, deformation, solid solution heat treatment at 500-550 C for 20-12000 s. Depending on geometrical sizes and surface quality of final semifinished product, it is subjected either to hot deformation, or to hot and cold deformation. Cold-rolled sheet is characterized by equiaxed recrystallization grain sizing 20-30 mcm that provides for its isotropic properties and high technological effectiveness in cold stamping and in condition TI has the following properties in longitudinal direction σV = 335 MPa; σ0,2 = 275 MPa and δ = 13%. The alloy is used as material for production of various articles, for instance, helicopter rotor blades, fuel tanks, pipelines, vehicle wheels, including articles subject to painting. Parts made of offered alloy are joined by welding, riveting or by bolts. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 13 cl, 3 tbl, 3 ex
