FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: alloy, preferably Al-Li-Mg system, comprises, wt %: 1.5-1.9; magnesium, 4.1-6.0; zinc, 0.1-1.5; zirconium, 0.05-0.3; manganese; 0.01-0.8; hydrogen, 0,9•10-5-4,5•10-5 and at least one element selected from group consisting of beryllium, 0.001-0.2; yttrium, 0.01-0.5 scandium 0.01-0.3; chromium, 0.01-0.5; and aluminium; the balance. Method comprises hardening, straightening and three-stage aging according to the following procedure: first stage, at 80-90 C for 3- 12 h, second stage, at 110-185 C for 10-48 h, and third stage, at 90-110 C for 8-14 h. EFFECT: higher plasticity of alloy in chemically strong state, high strength and high corrosion resistance, good weldability, high characteristics of viscosity of destruction and thermal stability after healing at 85 C for 1000 h. 3 cl, 1 ex, 3 tbl
