FIELD: disposal of radioactive wastes. SUBSTANCE: upon charging container casing with radioactive wastes its charging end is case-hardened throughout its cross-sectional area with steel-fiber-concrete mix over internal non-return deck, mix is allowed to harden under specified conditions, and then case-hardened end is sealed. Vibration surcharge may be used for mix consolidation. Shielding container casing has bottom and walls with step on inner perimeter. Dovetail-shaped stepped through slots deepening and expanding towards outer surface are provided in container walls. Provision is made for conducting all operations by means of remote-control mechanisms. EFFECT: improved reliability of container under abnormal conditions, simplified procedure of waste loading in container. 9 cl, 6 dwg
