FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: method and device provide control over amount of liquid to be pressure-fed by means of high-pressure liquid pump into common distributor using engine control circuit. Engine control circuit sets base amount of liquid to be fed according to preset pressure in common distributor and amount of liquid coming out of common distributor. Engine control circuit calculates also amount of liquid required to provide conformity of actual pressure in common distributor to change of preset pressure in common distributor basing on the value of preset pressure. Engine control circuit sets sum of base amount of delivered liquid, required amount of delivered liquid and transferred amount of liquid as set value of liquid amount. If set value of amount of delivered liquid exceeds capacity of liquid pump, engine control circuit defines difference between set value of amount of delivered liquid and capacity of pump as transferred amount of liquid which is considered at following setting of amount of delivered liquid, thus determining difference between these values in following set value of amount of delivered liquid.
