FIELD: ocular prosthetics, in particular, manufacture of the iris-pupil complex for ocular prosthesis. SUBSTANCE: the complex is made in the form of a black pupil molded of multi-colored layers of plastic and colored iris with a spherical front surface. The complex rear surface has a ring-shaped cavity made in the form of a torus. A cylindrical pupil is positioned in the centre of the torus, projecting to a height of 1.5 to 3 mm. The pupil edges are conjugate to the front spherical surface by means of an edge, 0.8 to 1.5 mm thick. The edge has a chamfer on the side of the front spherical surface made at an angle of 10 to 20 deg. to the central axis of the complex. The iris coloring is provided by a colored pattern applied onto the rear torus- shaped surface. In the other modification a concave blank disk-pupil, 0.4 to 0.5 mm thick and 3 to 4 mm in diameter, is made on the concave rear surface of the complex. An edge, 0.8 to 1.5 mm thick, is made between the front and rear surfaces of the complex. The edge has a chamfer on the side of the front spherical surface made at an angle of 10 to 20 deg. to the central axis of the complex. The iris coloring is provided by a colored pattern applied onto the rear surface of the complex. The method of manufacture of the iris-pupil complex is accomplished by molding of a pack of multi-colored disk plates and subsequent mechanical treatment of the front and rear surfaces of the complex. The specific features of the method of manufacture of the iris-pupil complex for an ocular prosthesis of the first and second modifications are described.
