FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: anterior capsule is opened, anterior capsulorrhexis is performed, iridocapsular retractors (ICR) are installed, hydrodissection, phacoemulsification of the lens nucleus are performed, followed by removal of the lens masses, implantation of an intraocular lens (IOL). After installing the ICR and performing anterior capsulorrhexis, an additional ICR is installed opposite the main incision, in the projection of the formation of a sulcus for phacoemulsification of the nucleus using the Stop&chop method, fixing the iris and dilating the pupil.
EFFECT: protection of the pupillary edge of the iris and the anterior capsule from damage during the formation of the sulcus, to increase the length of the sulcus, and also to create conditions for the safe operation of the phaco tip at elevated ultrasound parameters.
