FIELD: water transport; designing variable - pitch propellers. SUBSTANCE: variable-pitch propeller has shaft, hub and swivel blade mounted in hub. Swivel blade is made from flexible material with rigidly fixed lower tip relative to blade root. Rod passes through center of blade root. Lower end of this rod is connected with base which is mounted in hub between blade root and axis of shaft for turning the rod through angle corresponding to rated geometric angle of upper tip of blade when it is required to change propeller pitch. EFFECT: improved hydrodynamic characteristics of propeller; enhanced efficiency. 2 dwg
