FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has catalyst converters connected by branch pipes to form chain for multi-stage cleaning of exhaust gases. Converters are installed relative to each other so that their catalysts are located at distance chosen depending on power output of internal combustion engine. Each converter has housing consisting of two truncated cone-like split parts with end cylindrical bushings accommodating intake and outlet branch pipes. Ejector is installed on cylindrical bushing from side of intake branch pipe. Nickel-chromium- based catalyst is installed in place of connection of housing split parts. Diameter of catalyst is 3.5 times greater than diameter of intake branch pipe. All converters, excluding the last in direction of exhaust gas flow, are provided with exhaust gas flow dividers installed after catalysts before outlet branch pipes. EFFECT: improved cleaning of exhaust gases. 2 cl, 1 dwg
