FIELD: mechanical engineering: exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mufflers designed for cleaning and neutralizing exhaust gases by catalytic conversion differing in design of catalytic reactors. Proposed mufflers should be preferably used on trucks and buses. In muffler- converter catalytic blocks are mounted in reactor furnished with partition and supports for mounting in housing. Invention is aimed at improved performance characteristics of muffler-converter at simplified design and reduced cost of manufacture by rational organization of gas and heat exchange and optimum arrangement and making of unified main elements of muffler-converter.
