FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: proposed device incorporates measurement unit, photodetector, optical system, body of revolution subject to measurement, reference rule, pressing roller, rotation drive, supports for body of revolution to be measured, illuminator, sensor of angular position of supports of body of revolution to be measured and analog-to-digital converter. Beam of light is directed on to body of revolution to be measured and reference rule. Portion of beam of light is directed by optical system on to photodetector. Information from photodetector for conversion to digital form goes to input of analog-to-digital converter and then into measurement unit which determines diameter of measured body of revolution. During measurement body of revolution is arranged on supports which have the form of cylinders freely put on parallel axes. EFFECT: raised productivity and authenticity of test of diameter of body of revolution. 5 dwg
