FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: test of leak-proofness of fuel elements at stage of their manufacture is provided as fuel elements are continuously moved along own axis without any clearance between them passing in turn through zones of gradual reduction of residual pressure, test chamber connected to mass-spectrometric leak detector and zones of gradual rise of pressure. In this case conditions defined by mathematical dependencies given in materials of claim in correspondence with invention are fulfilled. Gear for realization of process provides for completely automatic test of leak-proofness of fuel elements at stage of their manufacture.
