FIELD: organic chemistry, particularly, preparation of functionally substituted fullerenes which are useful as complexing agents, sorbents, and biologically active compounds. SUBSTANCE: method comprises reacting fullerene (60) with excessive amount of 3-sulfolene in argon atmosphere, in toluene at 90-110 C for 6-10 h.
