FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: compositions, useful as binding agents for waterproofing materials and asphalt mixtures, made up of bitumen (100 wt parts) and rubber crumb from used up tires and other vulcanized rubber waste (10-50 wt parts) are supplemented by 0.01-2.5 wt parts of organic and/or inorganic base on condition that, when calcium carbonate is used and no organic bases are added, amount of only calcium carbonate represents 0.05-2 wt.pts. Organic bases can be chosen from aromatic or heteroaromatic amines or phosphines and inorganic ones from alkali or alkali-earth metal carbonates. Preparation of composition consists in simultaneously charging specified amounts of bitumen, rubber crumb, and bases into closed reactor and stirred at 160-230 C.
