FIELD: agricultural production. SUBSTANCE: rubbing apparatus has cylindrical drum with horizontal axis of rotation, whips attached to drum side surface along helical path, rod-type deck positioned so as to embrace cylindrical drum, feeding hopper with transportation device, and thrower. Mass of heap is charged into feeding hopper and directed by conical auger into annular working zone between rotating cylindrical drum and rod- type deck. In the process of rotation of drum, whips pull mass of heap over deck rods to destruct seed bolls. Whips are arranged so that whip coil angle with respect to cylinder generatrix is reducing in the course of advancement of heap over the whole length of cylindrical drum to slow down displacement of heap in axial direction and prolong action of drum upon difficult-to-rub parts of heap. Thrower positioned at the end of working zone is adapted for throwing out tangled stalks of heap. Apparatus of such construction is used for mechanized rubbing of plant heaps, and may be employed in machines for processing heaps of, for instance, fiber flax.
