FIELD: nondestructive testing, detection of laws of surfaces of ferromagnetic articles of simple and complicated configuration. SUBSTANCE: magnetizing unit has magnetic circuit made in the form of handle, prisms and tips hinged one to another. Prisms can move along handle. Tips are mounted for turning. Constant magnets magnetized along longitudinal axis are anchored in tips. Cross-section area of magnetic circuit over all sections is not less than that of constant magnets. Shunting rings are mounted on tips for their movement along axis of tips. In extreme lower position rings shunt magnetic flux of constant magnets and unit does not stick to article. This allows unit to be freely moved along article, set it in necessary position and distance between tips to adjusted. EFFECT: simplified design and functional reliability of proposed unit. 2 dwg
