FIELD: equipment for making and repairing rods of deep-well pumps, possibly in petroleum machine engineering, in restoration shops of oil production plants for power feed of new or used pump rods. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes frame, power cylinder, movable and stationary gripping units, orientation units. In cavity of body of each gripping unit cylinder with piston is mounted. In end wall of cylinder there is orifice connecting space between inner surface of cylinder and piston with atmosphere. Piston is movably joined with tip placed in cavity of gripping unit body; other end of tip is designed for joining with straightened rod. Apparatus allows to dampen shock occurring at rod breaking. It prevents damage of different units and parts of apparatus. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
