FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing p-xylene from blend comprising mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons having 8 carbon atoms. Method comprises circulation of at least some blend in zone for enriching first fraction by at least 30 wt.% with p-xylene. Some portion of the above mentioned first fraction is purified by single crystallization at high T1 temperature preferably from 110 C to - 25 C at least in single crystallization zone; crystals are isolated in the form of suspension in mother liquor, crystals are separated from mother liquor at least in first separation zone; in this case, the resulting crystals are once again suspended to desired level in single repeated suspension and partial melting zone. Suspension prepared in preceding stage is directed to crystal separation and washing stage. Crystals are washed with suitable solvent at least in single separation and washing zone to prepare, on one hand, pure p-xylene crystals, and on the other hand, washing liquid. EFFECT: highly purified p-xylene. 25 cl, 4 dwg
