FIELD: petrochemical processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process of converting mixture of hydrocarbon charge containing linear and branched olefins having 4 to 15 carbon atoms, the process including following steps: (a) selective formation of ethers of majority of olefins present in the charge; (b) processing of linear olefins present in the charge under moderate oligomerization conditions; (c) separation of effluent obtained in step (b) into at least two fractions: fraction β containing hydrocarbons with end boiling temperature below temperature lying between 150 and 200°C and fraction γ containing at least part of hydrocarbons with boiling point higher than temperature lying between 150 and 200°C; (d) processing of hydrocarbon fraction containing ethers formed in step (a) under conditions of at least partial cracking of ethers, above-named processing being accompanied by separation into gasoline fraction having improved octane number and fraction containing initial alcohol; (e) hydrogenation of γ fraction under conditions of obtaining gas oil with high cetane number and removal of at least part of nitrogen-containing or basic impurities contained in starting hydrocarbon charge.

EFFECT: improved hydrocarbon conversion efficiency.
