FIELD: electronic power supplies. SUBSTANCE: inverting power supply has first and second chargeable capacitors which are connected in turn to positive energy source and to negative lead across which voltage negative to common ground of power supply and energy source is to be maintained. Change-over switches function to connect positive plate of each chargeable capacitor to positive lead of power supply during alternating half-cycles of split-phase generator; charge flow from positive plates is effected by switching transistors during other half- cycle so as to enable charge transfer through diodes from positive lead to negative plate of chargeable capacitors during other half-cycle. Base-emitter currents of switching transistors are controlled by means of circuit that controls charge transfer depending on voltage across negative lead for regulating voltage across the latter by controlling rate of charge transfer to negative lead. Additional regulation can be effected by means of current control circuit that functions to control base-emitter currents of switching transistors depending on their collector currents.
