FIELD: manufacture or restoration of parts subjected to intensive wear. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of electric slag fusion of working portion of tool at freely shaping layer of welded-on metal; melting layer by depth of strengthening by means of non-consumable electrode with use of slag bath; simultaneously alloying strengthened layer by adding alloying elements to melting zone; keeping strengthened layer in melted state until providing its predetermined chemical content and structure; at once after layer formation realizing heat treatment of it. Alloying elements may be added due to their electrolytical deposition at feeding mineral concentrate to melting zone. Hot and cold cracking development is eliminated due to melted state of strengthened layer at alloying process and due to continuous thermic cycle.
