FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: additive is surface-treated additive where surfaces of additive are treated with agent which produces hydrophobic effect on additive. This effect makes additive more hydrophobic during period of time which follows inclusion of additive into composition, and water present in composition is absorber by additive to smaller extent, and hence becomes less suitable for preparation of composition suitable for serviceability thereof, and additive restores its natural properties after composition has been placed so that additive participates during solidification of composition. Also described are method of preparing additive and method additive-containing binding composition. EFFECT: additive to binder and concrete which increases strength and improves wetting time without any substantial increase in the desired water- cement ratio. 77 cl, 1 ex
