FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction, in particular to compositions of portland cement, and can be used in the industry of construction materials when making radiation-protective concrete. Barium-containing portland cement contains portland cement clinker and barium sulphate. Additionally, it contains barium chromate, and barium sulphate is added to barium-containing portland cement as part of sludge – a product of processing a liquid which cools nuclear reactors, which also contains trivalent chromium hydroxide, with the following ratio of components, wt.%: portland cement clinker – 70-80; chromate – 5-8; sludge containing barium sulphate, iron hydroxide and chromium hydroxide – 15-25, wherein said components are jointly ground in a ball mill to specific surface area of 400 m2/kg.
EFFECT: creation of barium-containing portland cement, having a set of required properties, which make it possible to increase radiation protection of concrete on its basis.
