FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing rigid polyurethane foam or urethane-modified polysiocyanurate foam for thermal insulation. Said method comprises stage of reaction of polyisocyanate composition free from silicon-based surfactant. Polyfunctional isocyanate reactive composition comprises amineinitiated polyol polyether and optionally polyol polyether having functionality from 2 to 6 and average molecular weight between 1000 and 10,000. Polyisocyanate composition comprises product of reaction of stoichiometric excess amount of organic polyisocyanate and, to great extent, fluorinated isocyanate-reactive compound. Rigid polyurethane foams and urethane- modified polyisocyanurate foams prepared by the claimed method has thin homogeneous structure of cells and more isotropic structure due to stronger foam.
