FIELD: treatment of metals, more particularly treatment of valve mechanisms lapping and grinding of valve seat and valve itself. SUBSTANCE: lapping paste comprises abrasive oleic acid mineral oil, plastic lubricant and surfactant, ratios of component being as followed, wt %: abrasive, 40-55; oleic acid, 1-5; plastic lubricant, 7-12; surfactant comprising organic compound with sulfur and chlorine, 5-18; and mineral oil, the balance. Lapping paste has high adhesion ability, it is simple to prepare and is inexpensive. Use of the lapping paste widens range of similar compositions.
