METHOD OF OPERATION OF TURBOFAN ENGINE BY ITS TECHNICAL CONDITION Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: tests of turbofan engines during their prolonged operation. SUBSTANCE: rotational speed of underpressure rotor n1 is measured in advance on engine prior to start of its prolonged operation on rotational speed with pressure differential of heavy pressure rotor n2. in turbine corresponding to maximum condition. After this in process of prolonged operation engine is periodically brought to rotational speed of underpressure rotor n1, close to one obtained at start of operation, pressure differential in turbine close to that of start of operation on this speed is formed, rotational speed of heavy pressure rotor n2, is measured and compared with values of start of operation. With increase of more than 1.5% of rotational speed from value of start of operation gas-and-air passage of engine is flushed out to reduced this deviation by 1.5-2.0% of obtained value. Such method makes it feasible to determine precisely time of necessity of flushing of engine during its prolonged operation without taking engine off aircraft or any other place of its operation. EFFECT: accuracy of results of test to make decision on engine flushing out.
