FIELD: sugar industry; preparation of feed water for extraction of sugar from beet chips. SUBSTANCE: methods consists in alkalization of evaporator steam condensate with lime milk to pH 11.00- 11.5, after which ammonia is removed by bubbling compressed air or steam through layer of condensate for 8 to 10 minutes and passing alternating current at density of 10 to 20 A/sq. m through it. Passing the current may be effected simultaneously with and before bubbling. Process is conducted at rarefaction of 0.06 to 0.05 MPa and temperature of 80 to 90 C. Blowing the ammonia off surface of condensate is effected with oxygen and hydrogen formed at electrolysis of water in the course of heating. Ammonia thus formed is evacuated under rarefaction into atmosphere and condensate is subjected to sulfitation after which it is directed for diffusion. EFFECT: increased amount of evacuated ammonia; improved quality of diffusion juice when condensate is used at diffusion. 1 tbl, 1 ex
