FIELD: oil and gas producing industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes registration of injected fluid flow rate by two flowmeters. One flowmeter is installed below tubing funnel, and the other one is mounted into injection line of autonomous pump plant connected to casing-wellbore annular space. Before beginning of operation, flowmeters are calibrated with help of autonomous pump plant, for instance, of cementing pump of TSA-320m type. Fluid is injected by said pump plant into casing-wellbore annular space. Tightness of flow string is determined by conformity of flow rate of injected fluid registered by flowmeter at same pressure as in calibration with fluid flow rate produced by autonomous pump plant. EFFECT: rapid detection of leakage of flow string including part of flow string overlapped by tubing without accurate location of leaky point within interval from wellhead to tubing funnel, and accurate detection of leaky point below tubing funnel. 2 cl, 1 dwg
