METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING TEMPOROMANDIBULAR ARTICULATIONS PATHOLOGY Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining control zones in the vicinity of articulations. Functional state of articulations is evaluated as a result of diagnostic examination. Matched symmetry points on the face skin relative to vertical face symmetry axis are used as the control zones. The points are selected in the area of articulation cross-section boundary along the trago-orbital line separating them. One of them is boundary point on the ear concha tragus. Bioelectromagnetic response index is measured and the articulations are subjected to functional loading. The measurements are taken once more. Functional state coefficient of articulations is calculated from a formula K=(1-V1/V2)x100% when V1 <V2, and K=(1-V2/V1)x100% when V2 <V1, where K is the value of the functional state coefficient of articulations, V1=Z1*/Z1, V2=Z2*, where Z1,Z2 are the arithmetic mean values of bioelectromagnetic response indices in points under study on the right and left face side before and after functional loading applied to articulations. The value of K being from 15% to 30%, functional state of articulations is evaluated as compensated one. The value of K being from 0 to 15% and greater than 30%, functional state of articulations is evaluated as subcompensated one. EFFECT: wide range of diagnostic applications; enabled temporomandibular pathology diagnosis; excluded harmful influence.
