SPIRAL SEPARATOR Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: mineral concentration industry; for recovery of heavy minerals and gold. SUBSTANCE: spiral separator includes box-type receiver of initial feed, screw trough with cross-section profile consisting of generatrix of internal side at angle of 30 dwg to horizon, trough bottom generatrix inclined to horizon at angle of 5-10 dwg. Said generatrices intersect at distance of trough diameter from vertical axis. Generatrix of external side is made over circumference with radius of 0.1-0.2 trough diameter. Maximum overall dimensions of profile by vertical is made equaling 0.25-0.3 of trough diameter. Spiral separator has in its center a central pipe rigidly secured together with trough. Central pipe has holes made over helical line for supply of washing water and made at angle of 45-60 deg to vertical axis. Shutoff device of concentrate is installed on output cut of last flight. Supporting posts are attached to external side of trough. EFFECT: increased recovery of gold and other heavy valuable components from dispersed mining materials. 5 dwg
