FIELD: transport engineering; antitheft devices for locking steering system. SUBSTANCE: in proposed antitheft device axis of lock barrel is parallel to axis of hole in which ball is installed. Plate is rigidly secured on barrel. Plane of plate is square to axes of barrel and hole accommodating the ball. Plate is fitted at minimum clearance in slot whose width is less than half of ball diameter. Hole accommodating the ball is provided with free outlet to slot. Distance between axes of barrel and hole accommodating the ball is less than distance from barrel axis to plate edge. Rod is provided with cavity coaxial with hole where ball finds its place in extreme position at locking. Depth of cavity provides, at getting of ball into cavity in plate rigidly secured on lock barrel, shifting of plate in position over hole accommodating ball. EFFECT: improved reliability of operation, simplified design. 5 dwg
