FIELD: crude oil treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to emulsions with elevated contents of sulfides. Method includes cold settling of emulsion while simultaneously separating settled water; adding demulsifier in amounts of 20 to 50 wt % of the calculated required amount; heating; feeding hot emulsion into salt water stream at volume ratio 1:(2-9) while simultaneously dispersing and introducing in dozed manner the rest of demulsifier; and final settling. Utilized demulsifier is alcoholic solution of mixture of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer with alkoxyalkyl phosphates or alkylbenzenesulfonates at weight ratio 1:(0.5- 1.0), respectively. As alcohol solvent, 1:1 (v/v) mixture of methanol with C4-C8 alcohol fraction is used. EFFECT: increased emulsion destruction efficiency due to high degree of removal of suspended impurities and residual content of water below 1%. 3 cl, 2 ex
