FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: sensor can be cloth or any porous material soaked up with polyaniline that falls into class of conducting polymers doped with complexes of transition metals or with complexes of aromatic compounds. Principle of action of sensor is based on reversible change of color with contact with analyzed gas. Polyaniline utilized in sensor is synthesized in electroplating tank at potentials from -0.3 to +1.2 V on special graphite electrode or chromium-plated electrode under cyclic mode by method of electrochemical polycondensation in solution with subsequent dissolution in solvent used to soak up porous materials chemically inert both to polyaniline and to analyzed gaseous substance. EFFECT: reduced cost and labor input, no need in usage of measurement instruments, enhanced sensitivity and selectivity of sensor.
