FIELD: small nuclear power plants for hard-to-get-at regions. SUBSTANCE: reactor has electrolysis chamber, water circulating system, detonating-mixture storage device, and turbine- generator set. Uranium taken from spent fuel rods of nuclear reactor is converted into granules of composite uranium oxide and binder. Radioactivity of granules obtained is high enough to use them for radiolytic decomposition of water. Radiolytic water is treated by means of voltaic cell wherein it is decomposed into hydrogen and oxygen (detonating mixture). In this way radioactive wastes are converted from useless environmentally hazardous ballast into product used for producing low-cost energy. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of reactor. 1 cl, 1 dwg
