FIELD: ichthyology and fishery. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining number of hydrobionts passed through counting zone by given moment of time, number of hydrobionts which are at the moment in fish pass between cutoff and counting zones, and number of hydrobionts which may pass through cutoff zone at current hydrobiont rolling down intensity during full fish pass cutoff time; summing up obtained data and comparing it with "dosed" number; cutting off fish pass in case of equal data. Periodicity of comparison operations depends upon hydrobionts rolling down intensity and water flow rate. Method is used for counting off predetermined number of hydrobionts in water flow in the process of transferring hydrobionts into vessels.
