METHOD OF APPLICATION OF PROTECTIVE COAT ON EXTERNAL SURFACES OF LONG-CUT METAL ARTICLES Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: methods of application of protective coats on external surfaces of long-cut metal articles by pyrolysis of metallizing compound in vacuum. SUBSTANCE: method consists in feed of metallizing compound containing chrome organic liquid, performing translational motion of article through first and second deposition zones at rate of 0.8 to 1.0 m/h from first deposition zone to second deposition zone at continuous rise temperature for 8 to 12 min from 340 to 360 C in first deposition zone and from 540 to 560 C in second zone; motion of vapor of metallizing compound and its evacuation are performed along surface of article; diiodo-diphenyl vapors are fed to first deposition zone simultaneously with chrome-organic liquid vapors; benzyl benzoate vapors are fed to second deposition zone. Besides that, diiodo-diphenyl vapors are fed at rate of 3•10⁴-5•10^-4 1/h and benzyl benzoate vapors are fed at rate of 1,5•10^-3-3•10^-3 1/h; vapors of metallizing compounds are evacuated at rate of 1,1•10⁴-1,8•10⁴ 1/h.
