FIELD: protective coatings. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to depositing chromium carbide coatings via decomposition of bis-arene chromium compounds for use in various areas, for instance in oil production and petroleum processing areas, wherein equipment with protective corrosion- and wear-resistant surfaces is utilized. Prior to deposit pyrolytic chromium carbide coating, surface is annealed in vacuum (10-15 Pa) for 8 h at 550 C and then leached in 36% hydrochloric acid for 1 h, after which slime is removed with magnesium oxide-based detergent. EFFECT: enabled formation strong-adhesion coatings with adhesion values up to 320 MPa and hardness up to 25 Gpa for operation under especially corrosive conditions. 7 tbl, 10 ex
