FIELD: traction motor drives for vehicles. SUBSTANCE: induction motor has stator with single- or three-phase power windings wound on iron core and supplied with power from ac electronic generator. Motor rotor is coupled with load via working shaft. Motor is characterized in that it has toroidal stator core and is built integral with mentioned generator. Double primary winding and secondary windings of generator are wound on stator core. Generator dc voltage supply circuit incorporates rheostat that functions to control motor speed and its breaking. Rotor input current rises to maximum during starting period and drops to minimum as rotor gains speed. Rotor speed is controlled by rheostat knob only. EFFECT: provision for dispensing with reduction unit and gearbox; enlarged no-trouble period of motor without repairs. 5 dwg
