FIELD: electrical engineering; welding. SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to self-contained welding device coupled with drive motor and designed for supplying one single-operator welder at manual arc welding, cutting and surfacing with consumable electrode. Generator is made in form of two-pack three-phase inductor-type ac high frequency machine with self excitation and rectifying of welding current. Rotor 4 consists of two electrical steel toothed lamination packs arranged on one shaft. Teeth of one pack are shifted through π electrical degrees relative to teeth of other pack. Excitation system consists of field winding 8 placed between rotor packs and rigidly secured on machine frame, field current auxiliary transformer 9, four low-power diodes 10-13, adjustable resistor 14 and regulating rheostat 15. rectifying unit 16 with plus terminal 17 and minus terminal 8 is arranged inside additional rigid housing with ventilation screen. Auxiliary shunt resistor 22 is coupled with rectifying unit. Switchgear box accommodates the following devices: power winding change-over switch 24, excitation system current transformer 9, terminals for connecting welding wires, excitation system diodes 10-13, adjustable resistor 14 and regulating rheostat 15. generator features high output power.
