FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: grinding apparatus has hollow casing adapted to be filled with liquid. Blades fixed to inner surface of casing are adapted for imparting swirling motion to liquid inside casing. Swirling motion of liquid creates inertia moment which balances moments produced in the process of cutting wood of stump with complex end surface. Grinding apparatus provides high quality destruction of stump wood independent of wood density per 1 sq.m of forest cover, diameter and shape of stump end surface.
