FIELD: sewage biological purification method. SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying sewage water into bioreservoir containing attached or suspended biomass; providing controlled supplying of different amounts of oxygen into reservoir so that zones with different oxygen content are maintained in it. Aerobic zone is created adjacent to bioreservoir surface and oxygen-depleted zone is created adjacent to reservoir bottom, and optionally with at least one transition zone between them. Biomass is used in concentration exceeding 3 kg of dry substance per 1 cu.m of effective volume of bioreservoir. Biological purification of sewage water is effected by combined method using submersible filter and active silt, in particular, simultaneous and integrated nitrification and denitrification in single reservoir, and complete removal of phosphor. EFFECT: increased efficiency in removal of phosphor, increased economy and reduced repair and maintenance costs. 14 cl, 2 tbl, 1 dwg
