FIELD: separation of pulps under action of centrifugal forces; applicable at concentrating mills, in chemical, food and other industries. SUBSTANCE: method of regulation of hydrocyclone operation by measurement of granulometric composition of its overflow is realized by synchronous variation of rarefaction in hydrocyclone body through vacuum tubes by their motion in region of sand and overflow branch pipes. Hydrocyclone has body with inlet, overflow and sand branch pipes and two vacuum tubes located over body longitudinal axis. One vacuum tube is located in hydrocyclone on the side of overflow branch pipe, and the other vacuum tube is found on the side of sand branch pipe. Tubes are installed for synchronous reciprocation in overflow and branch pipes, respectively. EFFECT: higher efficiency of method, extended range of regulation of flow rates between overflow and sands and also of solid phase of pulp. 2 cl, 1 dwg
